LONG-TIME pedestrianisation supporter Mark Westcott has urged Farnham to embrace the market trial.

He attended the full council meeting and took advantage of the opportunity for the public to speak to members.

The told them: “The trial proposal that’s on the table would, I believe, provide a great opportunity to test out a truly transformative move for Farnham – not only in terms of amenity and a considerably enhanced environment, but also in making a very welcome reduction of pollution in the town centre.

“Additionally, and also of importance, is that this trial proposal would be virtually cost-neutral, it can be implemented almost immediately, and it would provide an excellent real-time chance to see how traffic is actually affected and whether or not it impacts on important outlying areas such as Upper Hale.”
