A landmark hotel in Farnham could land a national title after being named the best in Surrey.

Staff at the Bush Hotel are checking out if there’s room in the trophy cabinet following their county triumph in The Muddy Stilettos Awards.

The hotel on The Borough will now compete in the national final with a spokesperson hailing the recognition as “amazing”.

The spokesperson said: “It’s the result of a few years of hard work and investment by the whole team to create the best experience we can for our guests.”

The Bush Hotel beat tough competition to take the top spot with the national winner being crowned by judges on July 11.

The competition reached an audience of over ten million people in eight weeks with more than 515,000 votes and nominations being cast nationally across 28 counties, making it the biggest and most popular Muddy Stiletto Awards to date.

A spokesperson for the Bush Hotel said: “The Bush is a historic venue with beautiful heritage features and we have invested in designing around those so it’s a perfect blend of old world and new.

“We are also right in the centre of town but have the peaceful oasis of our gardens at the back so guests can enjoy the best of both worlds.

“But I always think the team is what makes us special. In hospitality, it’s always about the quality of the interactions with your customers and we have a fantastic team who want to go over and above for our guests. “

“This award is one of many that recognises that Farnham is a great town with brilliant businesses and so much to offer. It’s the perfect place for a weekend away, to use as a base for work or travel or to celebrate special occasions.“
