Located at 28 The Borough, next to Petite Patisserie and Toni & Guy Hairdressers, the new store will take over the premises formerly occupied by the British Heart Foundation shop.
Micky Singh, owner of the new store and of the family-run business, said he is “excited” to serve the local community.
Mr Singh, who already runs a phone repair shop just two doors away, says he will use the car park of The Bush Hotel for deliveries, following the same arrangement as his existing business.
The shop has undergone a complete transformation in just two weeks, with renovations including new shelving, refrigerator units, and a clean, modern layout designed to make shopping easy.
Mr Singh said he is proud to open another shop in Farnham and hopes to become a “premier” branded store, with discussions ongoing.
Opening the new shop has been a long-awaited goal for Mr Singh, with planning and licensing discussions taking over a year before the fitting-out could begin.
There were some concerns about waste disposal and deliveries, as The Borough is the only road providing access to the premises.
Mr Singh said he aims to offer a wide range of alcoholic drinks, soft beverages, snacks, groceries, and everyday essentials. He plans to place particular emphasis on food-to-go options.
He said: “A lot of people working in the town are looking for alternative options to the popular restaurants and are often looking for something cheap and fast at lunch time.”
The shop’s opening hours will be from 7am to 11pm every day. Mr Singh aims to complete the final touches by the end of the month and, if all goes to plan, to welcome customers in the first weeks of July.
