THE Fearnhamme School Confederation held its sixth annual talent show ‘Fearnhamme’s Got Talent on Thursday, June 16, at Waverley Abbey School.

The show was judged by David Bole who was a trumpeter for the Queen, Carol Musgrove from Eagle Radio, Nick Lang, chairman of the Farnham Operatic Society and Ian Parsons dancer, actor and West End star.

All the judges were amazed by the standard of the performances throughout the evening and had a very hard task selecting winners.

The Ridgeway Band provided a great start to the evening with their brass band playing the national anthem.

South Farnham Infant Singers were the first act to take to the stage and performed a beautiful version of When I Grow Up complete with slides and scooters.

They were followed by three gymnasts from St Peter’s Primary who flipped their way across the stage impressing everyone with their skill.

Highfield South Farnham were next with Messing About in Boats, singing beautifully and looking great in their striking yellow hats.

All Saints Infants School appeared on stage in sweet costumes with love hearts and sang Hands, Feet, Hearts, their choreography was fantastic.

Last to perform before the interval was young Toby Morris from St Mary’s Infant School. Toby did a solo on the drums and had the audience rocking to Living on a Prayer; no-one could believe the skill shown by such a young musician.

After the interval St Polycarp’s ‘Poly’s go to Rio’ filled the stage with colour and skill performing a very detailed gymnastic routine skilfully using hoola hoops to make the Olympic symbol. They were a colourful sight to behold.

St Andrew’s Incredibles had toes tapping as they delivered their version of Holding Out for a Hero, wearing striking superhero costumes and eye-catching face paint.

Next to perform were The Abbey A Team, evolution of dance. The Abbey students took their audience through the decades with a complicated medley of dances, skilfully showing us the many different types of dance that have been popular over the years. They looked fantastic in eye catching black and white costumes.

Last to perform was Joe Shaw Allen from Waverley Abbey School. Joe performed a drum solo composed by him and completely wowed the crowd with his skill and talent.

The atmosphere was tense as the judges deliberated and at last they announced that the two Rising Star trophies were awarded to St Polycarp’s and Joe Allen Shaw from Waverley Abbey with Best Act going to The Abbey School.

As always the evening was great fun and all proceeds from the event will go to providing Special Needs Resources for the Confederation Schools.

The Fearnhamme Confederation would like to thank Waverley Abbey School and staff for making the event such a success, including the many students who managed the lights, music and props.

Also in line for thanks were the judges who did a fantastic job, the PTA at St Andrew’s Infant School for all their support, Mike Hodge, the Deputy Mayor of Farnham, for presenting the trophies, Diana Praine for awarding the participation certificates and the host Darryl Morgan, head of Ridgeway School. who as always ensured the show ran well and entertained everybody.

George Acworth and James Mackenzie from Waverley Abbey School, Oliver Asprey and Katherine O’Dell from The Abbey School, Lily Buckton from South Farnham Infants and Denton Smith from St Mary’s Infants who all did a great job introducing the acts and to Matt Chisnall for capturing the evening for us with his photography skills.

We are looking forward to Fearnhamme’s Got Talent 2017!
