THE funeral took place on Friday this week (Oct 29) of Farnham's first town mayor, Brigadier Alan Smallman, who died suddenly last Thursday.
Brig Smallman MBE (84), a Rowledge resident who remained very active in organisations including the Old Farnhamians and Farnham College Trustees, was mayor between 1984 and 1986 following the first election for a town council.
