FEARS are growing for a 47-year-old man who has been missing for more than a week. Paul Lake, an artist, has not been seen since he left his home in Chiddingfold at around 4-15 pm on Wednesday, December 20. Mr Lake has only a small amount of cash, but no credit or debit cards on him. Police and Mr Lake's family are growing increasingly concerned for his welfare. Surrey Police officers have mounted a search in the Chiddingfold area involving around 40 officers and several police dogs. Because of the recent foggy weather, a plane from Hampshire Police was used instead of the Surrey Police helicopter. Mr Lake is described as white, around 6 foot tall, of slender build, with dark brown curly hair and brown eyes. He often likes to take long walks in the local area, but this is the first time he has gone missing. When last seen, Mr Lake was wearing a three-quarter-length brown furry jacket, dark red cords and heavy walking boots. Anyone who believes they may have seen Mr Lake or know of his whereabouts is asked to contact Guildford police station on 0845 125 2222. Anyone with information, but who would like to remain anonymous, is asked to contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
