FARNHAM could soon be left without any evening or Sunday bus services as a result of public sector spending cuts, a town councillor and public transport expert has warned.

But David Beaman, independent Farnham town councillor for Upper Hale, has warned that with some major areas of public expenditure such as the NHS 'protected', "softer" areas of expenditure are expected to bear larger cuts.
"One of these 'softer' targets is transport," he said, "and although some large expenditure projects like High Speed 2 can expect to survive untouched there are real fears that expenditure on bus services will again be subject to significant cuts."
