THE monthly Farnham farmers' market is at risk of being killed off by the sudden imposition of more than £4,000 in fees each year for the use of Central car park.
Charges which would replace the current £1 annual peppercorn fee were approved last week by Waverley Council's executive, as part of a revised policy relating to all its car parks.
If the borough council applies the increase, Farnham Town Council, which operates the market as a not-for-profit initiative, can expect to pay £50 for a licence each month, plus £10 per stall.
