A PUBLIC inquiry into the proposed diversion of part of the Holybourne, Froyle and Alton footpath network was held at Alton Assembly Rooms last week with strong views aired on both sides.
Recognised as a sensitive and controversial issue, with many believing that the proposal would represent an unacceptable re-routing of the historic Pilgrims Way, feelings were running high.
