HALE Community Centre’s Girlz Club offers girls between 10 and 14 an opportunity to relax after a hard day of school.

The aim of the club is to cultivate a constructive and unpressurised environment in which girls, within this tough transitional period, can feel secure and supported as well as being simply an opportunity to socialise outside of school time.

The club recently hosted a ‘Summer Fest’ with a variety of activities aimed at welcoming new members joining in September.

There was also a workshop on fire safety during this session to teach the girls vital wilderness skills and fire safety measures - with marshmallows to enjoy as the cherry on the cake.

The club has been running successfully for six months and looks to be growing.
