THOUSANDS of revellers will take to the streets of Petersfield this Bank Holiday weekend to join one of the South's biggest parties.
But concerns about the effects of the major fundraising event have been no laughing matter for organisers of the Petersfield Spring Festival.
There's no need to travel elsewhere this weekend as Steve Jacob and Ben Errey have promised "plenty to see and do" in the town centre.
Highlights include the Herald Festival of Transport with more than 200 classic vehicles converging on the town from 10am on Sunday.
There will be a cavalcade down the High Street around 11.30am before the vehicles head off to Farnham for a similar event.
Much of the town centre will be closed off on Sunday and Monday to make way for a stunning range of market stalls and events.
There will also be live music in The Square throughout the weekend, with a range of acts taking to the stage from Saturday evening.
Plenty of food and drink will be available while a petting zoo and a range of Victorian hand-powered rides are bound to keep the children entertained.
The event is the latest to be organised by the Petersfield Festivals team headed by Steve Jacob and Ben Errey. The pair are both members of Petersfield Round Table and are backing the group's bid to raise £300 for the Alton & Petersfield MS Society.
But concerns over the environment have brought rain to their parade, as the pair have decided to scrap a balloon race planned for Sunday.
