THE town's rugby club will host the inaugural Alton Irish Festival this weekend. The Féile Alton is organised by the rugby club, Donaghmoyne Fontenoys Gaelic Athletic Association, County Monaghan and the Monaghan Community Arts Association and will run from Friday to Sunday. The aim is to use the club's facilities in Anstey Park as a catalyst for exploring the cultural diversity in England and to encourage the use of the club as a centre of excellence for a range of sporting and cultural activities.
