THE recent Festival of Transport organised by the Farnham Herald in conjunction with Farnham Weyside Rotary Club was not only a great success for the drivers and everyone who came along, but also succeeded in raising substantial funds for Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice.
At a recent meeting of the Farnham Weyside Rotary Club, Scott Wood, managing director of The Herald, was a special guest. He came along to present a cheque for the money raised.
Chris Foss, president, said how well the festival had gone and that he and the other members had greatly enjoyed the day.
Mr Wood replied that The Herald was delighted that Farnham Weyside got involved in what was a new format this year. He looked forward to a continuing involvement in the future.
After presenting a cheque to Michael Maher, trustee of the Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice, Mr Maher responded by saying just how much the hospice appreciates these donations and spoke about how active the hospice is, not only in the hospice itself but also in the community.
