THE Bank Holiday downpour failed to dampen the Spring Festival spirit, organised by Farnham Town Council and built on the success of last year’s inaugural event.
The 2017 festival included even more family attractions and entertainment, which proved to be very popular. One particular crowd pleaser was the addition of the new garden games purchased by the town council.
As well as being able to participate in a variety of games, visitors were able to try their hand at Taiko drumming with Farnham Taiko Club, street dancing with The Dance Movement and brush up on their football skills with Aldershot Football Club.
Live music added to the festive atmosphere. The Rock Choir opened the festival with an uplifting performance that included favourites such as Katie Perry’s ‘Roar’, which soon got everyone up and dancing.
Speaking after the festival, Jill Hargreaves, the town council’s lead member for tourism and events, said: “It was marvellous to see so many people having such a good time at the festival.
“The Spring Festival was sponsored by Bushbaby Travel and Trueman & Grundy estate agents and marks the start of our summer events programme, which is sponsored by local solicitors, Kidd Rapinet.
