SUMMER in Petersfield has officially gone out with a bang – not to mention a deluge of rain!

The town’s annual two-day jamboree welcomed a healthy turnout on Sunday as the town basked in warm sunshine.

But the dreaded curse of the soggy bank holiday struck 24 hours later as heavy rain threatened to put a dampener on proceedings on the last weekend before schoolchildren head back to school after the summer break.

Before the rains came, the town welcomed the Herald and Post Classic Car Show as hundreds of vintage vehicles of all shapes, colours and sizes converged on the town.
