A SCHOOL in Farnham has been boosted by funds donated by Forest Lodge Garden Centre.

The Farnham garden centre raised more than £1,200 during the Christmas period by customers throwing loose change into the animated festive display at the centre.

Simon Hughes, garden centre manager, told the Herald they chose to support The Ridgeway School as they “hadn’t chosen that school for a while” and they “like the charity to be children-based at Christmas”.

He added: “We’re pleased to help local charities and the kids loved it.”

The Ridgeway School welcomes pupils from the age of two to 19, who have severe and profound learning difficulties.

Ann-Marie, chairwoman of the Friends of the Ridgeway, said: “The Friends would like to say a huge thank you to Forest Lodge for choosing them to support this year through their Christmas train display. The money raised will be going towards a multi-sensory, water-based theatre performance for the children at the school with profound and complex needs.”
