Haslemere Town Council hosted a festive carol concert around the Christmas tree in the High Street last Thursday evening (December 15).

The concert was well attended by a crowd of several hundred people.

The mayor of Haslemere, Councillor Jacquie Keen, opened proceedings and the event was then compered by town crier Christian Ashdown.

Haslemere Town Band provided live music to accompany the carol singing.

Complimentary mulled wine and mince pies were provided by Haslemere and District Chamber of Trade and Commerce members.

After an appearance by Father Christmas, the festive evening drew to a close.

Haslemere mayor Cllr Keen said: “We would like to thank everyone involved in making this event happen – it’s so lovely to see everyone together once more after the difficult past few years.”

Several hundred pounds were raised for the mayor’s charities.
