THE Watercress Line has been raising funds for good causes.

Since 2014, Long Barn has commissioned local artist Jen Boardman to capture familiar festive scenes that celebrate the local community at Christmas.

This past year was extra special – Long Barn collaborated with The Watercress Line to produce a bauble that captured the spirit and splendour of their much-loved Santa Special train service.

A donation from every sale was promised to the Alresford Pigs Association, which has given financial help to those in need for more than 40 years.

Richard Norris, director at Long Barn and Woodies Mountford, marketing manager at The Watercress Line, presented Alresford Pigs chairman, Mark Emmerson with a cheque for the magnificent sum of £850.

“It was an honour to work with The Watercress Line – it’s always a delight to catch a glimpse of their iconic green steam engine – and we’re thrilled to have helped raise funds for the Alresford Pigs Association, a fantastic charity which supports a number of worthwhile causes,” Mr Norris said.
