CHILDREN at Hollycombe Primary School celebrated the start of the Christmas holidays with a festive lunch at the end of term.

After another successful and busy year, children and staff were able to enjoy the necessary refurbishment of the school after a flood in one of the classrooms early last summer.

Headteacher Tamsin Austoni congratulated her staff and volunteers who spent part of their summer holidays ensuring the renovation work went well and that children in spring class were able to return to a classroom with brightly coloured new furniture.

The school would like to hear from volunteers in the new year to give a talk about their profession at one of its assemblies and promises that pupils are good listeners and have a genuine interest in learning about any kind of profession.
