THE Lindford village events committee was celebrating this week after putting together a successful fete at the weekend, following months of hard work and planning. Saturday's fete commemorated the 70th anniversary of D-Day and saw military-themed fun for all ages. To kick-start proceedings, district councillor Yvonne Parker-Smith officially opened the event, which featured a variety of stalls, selling local craftware and produce and which attracted steady custom. Entertainment was provided by Little Treasures, run by Kye Anderson; Mr Giant and a birds of prey display - the star being Mr Woo, the blind barn owl.
