SUPPORTERS of ISIS hostage John Cantlie have increased their campaigning efforts on the eve of the fifth anniversary of his capture.

On Twitter, ‘Free John Cantlie‘ campaigners posted: “On November 22, John Cantlie will have been held by ISIS for five years. Let’s see if we can get #John Cantlie #LeaveNoOneBehind trending to show we haven’t given up.”

Mr Cantlie, who lived in Haslemere up until 2008 and his travels in Iraq, has not been heard of since last December, when ISIS’s last propaganda video featured the journalist acting as presenter in Mosul.

It was the 12th time he had been used to lend credibility to their films. He was reported dead by some Iraqi media sources in July, but there has been no confirmation by the US Coalition or Iraqi armed forces.
