A SURVEY by a High Street bank has highlighted the increasingly desperate need for more affordable housing in Petersfield.

Petersfield has been listed as the fifth most expensive market town in the country in a survey by Lloyds Bank.

The typical price of a home in the town is an eye-watering £355,244, nearly 40 per cent more than the national average of £216,143.

It appears there's also a high price for living in the South Downs National Park as Midhurst and Lewes also make the top 10.
