Schools, charities and other community groups across the Farnham area can bag £50 each to put towards their services by entering a guy for this year’s Farnham Fireworks and Torchlit Procession.

Farnham Round Table, a sociable club for men aged 45 and under, is again organising this year’s main town fireworks display which will take place on Saturday, November 4, backed by gold sponsors Guardian Angel Carers, silver sponsors Moran Roofing and bronze sponsors Crest Nicholson.

And as a fun way to dish out some of the proceeds from the charity event, the Round Table is inviting all local schools and community groups to enter its popular guy competition – and in exchange, the Round Table will give a £50 donation to each group that takes part.

Previous years have attracted guys of all shapes and sizes – providing the finishing touch to a large bonfire at Farnham Park.

The event will also feature the annual torchlit procession through Farnham, live music, fire performers, food and drinks stalls topped off by a spectacular professional fireworks display.

Nigel Davison, chair of Farnham Round Table, said: “Our Guy competition has always been a hit with local groups and we love seeing their creations each year. Farnham Fireworks is built on contributions from all corners of our community as well as support from our main sponsor, Guardian Angel Carers, and our silver sponsor Moran Roofing and bronze sponsor Crest Nicholson.

"Early ticket sales suggest this could be another bumper year and we are counting down the days to welcome everyone again!”

Tickets can be purchased at www.farnhamroundtable.org.uk. In a change from previous years, the flaming torches used in the procession are being pre-sold alongside tickets, though they are still only available to adults for safety reasons. Other glowing and flashing novelties will be available for sale at the event.

Any groups that wish to participate in the Guy competition should contact [email protected] as soon as possible for information about where and when to deliver their entry on Saturday, November 4. Results of the competition will be posted on the Farnham Round Table Facebook page.
