The WHITEHILL & Bordon Regeneration Company is hosting a free Careers Fayre at The Shed on April 5.

From 5pm to 7pm more than 30 employers will be looking to fill local job vacancies and help residents find employment, skills development and career opportunities in the town.

The free event, hosted in collaboration with Abri, East Hampshire District Council and the Department for Work and Pensions, will feature the British Army, global games manufacturer Asmodee, Serco, BAM Construction, Avon Cosmetics, the Department for Work and Pensions, East Hampshire District Council, Hampshire Constabulary, Taylor Wimpey, the RAF and the Whitehill & Bordon Regeneration Company.

Housing association Abri will host a CV clinic and offer mock interviews to help people show off themselves and their abilities when searching for a job.

The Careers Fayre is part of broader plans spearheaded by the Whitehill & Bordon regeneration project to raise the aspirations of the town and make it a place for excellence where people can build their future.

It is also a chance for new and established local employers to introduce themselves to
residents.

James Child, project lead for the Whitehill & Bordon Regeneration Company, said: “The main role of the Whitehill & Bordon Regeneration Company is to help support a strong and sustainable local community in which opportunity and success can thrive. Part of this means building new homes, and part of it means creating a strong surrounding infrastructure, covering everything from transport links and amenities to cultural institutions and reliable healthcare.

“But these things play second fiddle to our responsibility to help create a town where people can live and work to support their local communities for generations to come.

“We are proud to bring new, exciting and globally significant businesses and corporations into the local area, creating employment and career opportunities that have, for such a long time, been far too scarce.

“At the centre of everything we do are the young generations who currently live here and those who one day will.

“Their aspirations require opportunity and we plan to do everything we can to create that for them.

“This event is one small vital step towards delivering on this
mission.”
