STUDENTS from Farnham Sixth Form College welcomed a team from Happy Space on Wednesday, March 21, to give lectures on mental health.
The charity was set up to deal with student mental health problems, and to help students ask and answer the question “why don’t I feel OK?”.
Happy Space have previously given lectures locally at Frensham Heights.
Ioan Davies, pastoral lead at the college, said: “In a climate where an increasing number of young people are experiencing mental illness, it is very reassuring to know that organisations such as Happy Space are available to provide advice and guidance on this very serious topic.
“The presentation was delivered with enthusiasm and the advice provided was insightful and accessible.
“I am very grateful to the team at Happy Space for providing our learners with the opportunity to engage with their excellent philosophies and very much look forward to inviting Tegan and the team back in the future.”
Paris Nash, a first year student, said: “I really enjoyed the workshop with Happy Space and I learned a great deal about mental health and wellbeing.
“I especially liked the fact that they have a booklet with guidance on how to deal with stress, depression and anxiety.”
