POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a fire destroyed a mobile home in the early hours of Thursday in a case of suspected arson.
It happened at around 12.17am on a plot of land adjacent to Alton Road just off the A31 in Farnham.
According to the police, it appears someone entered the home and deliberately set it ablaze, which although unoccupied at the time was full of family belongings.
A large excavator digger was also set alight and damage was caused to a Ford Transit van. There were a number of animals on the premises but fortunately they were unharmed.
Dc Lawrence Burden said: "This was a callous act on someone’s property which has left a family devastated.
"I would appeal to anyone who has information to think of the family, do the right thing and call us so we can further the investigation and bring those responsible to justice.”
Anyone with information should call Surrey Police on 101, quoting reference 45160050934, or use the online reporting system at report.police.uk.
