FIREFIGHTERS have cited a fire at the Barley Mow in Tilford last Wednesday as the perfect example of why the Surrey fire authority should not go ahead with cuts to the night-time fire service across the county.

Six fire appliances and their crews were eventually needed to tackle what had ostensibly been a simple chimney fire, spotted at around 7.30pm when the pub was busy with customers.
