PETERSFIELD fire station was transformed into a giant car wash over the weekend – all for a good cause.
And firefighters at the Swan Street station had a successful day, washing more than 60 cars and raising £400 for the Firefighters' Charity.
Jimmy White, the station's charity representative, said: "The Firefighters' Charity is a national charity that does a variety of different work such as giving help to firefighters who have been badly injured in the line of duty and helping widows of firefighters who have been killed as a result of their work.
"And there are three specially-run care homes in the UK that are dedicated to helping firefighters. All of this needs vital funding through events such as the charity car wash."
