FARNHAM Fire Station welcomed around 400 people to its open day in July.
Visitors, including many children and their families, enjoyed a day fuelled with demonstrations, activities and key messages to take away.
A turntable ladder arrived from Guildford, and an animal rescue unit from Painshill and Farnham’s own fire engine were all part of the day’s activities.
Demonstrations such as tackling a kitchen oil fire and road traffic drills using cutting equipment were displayed, and CPR demonstrations were conducted by the ambulance service.
Children also enjoyed various activities including getting their hands on a water hose.
The main messages for the audience to digest were to install smoke alarms and test them regularly, and to know what the protocols are in case of a fire.
