Farnham’s much-anticipated new restaurant and bar, The Third Monkey, opened its doors to the public for the first time on Thursday, July 24.

Based in the former Liberal Club on South Street, the venue has been transformed into a two-floor destination combining relaxed dining with a vibrant late-night offering.
The ground floor is a welcoming gastropub serving seasonal small plates, craft beers, and an extensive list of wines. On our visit on opening night, the bar was packed with punters, enjoying both the food and lively atmosphere.
Upstairs, guests can enjoy a more prestigious experience in the cocktail bar and fine dining restaurant. With a rooftop terrace and DJs playing every weekend, the space is set to become a go-to late-night venue in Farnham.
Under Executive Chef Adam Fisher, the restaurant offers a seasonal menu focused on sustainability and locally sourced British produce. The former club has been stylishly refitted with a high-end dining area, cocktail bar, and rooftop terrace.

Fisher’s menu brings professionally presented, restaurant-quality dishes to the town, including Cornish monkfish, BBQ Iberico pork loin, and a Devonshire duck burger.
Guests are warmly welcomed from the moment they arrive, starting with friendly security staff at the entrance, followed by a professional and hospitable front-of-house team.
The bar continued to draw crowds throughout the evening, with diners staying for drinks and others dropping in to unwind after a long day.

From 9.45pm every Friday and Saturday, the upstairs cocktail bar hosts a DJ playing feel-good tracks until 1am, adding a lively twist to the venue’s weekend offering.
General Manager Charlie Francis said: “We are really glad to be open, first night was busy, the team did amazing and I was super impressed with the team and our opening night. It will be great to have more people coming for drinks not just food.
“We have our own lager The Third Monkey Lager and on Sunday we have 130 covers for lunch.”
With its combination of quality food, stylish design, and buzzing atmosphere, The Third Monkey is already making its mark on Farnham’s food and nightlife scene.
