A RIBBON-cutting ceremony marked the completion of the first phase of house building at the Kilnfields Estate in Haslemere on Tuesday.
Waverley Borough Council's housing portfolio holder, Victor Scrivens, cut the ribbon on plot 76, one of eight completed homes of the 81 which are being built as part of the regeneration plan for Kilnfields.
The first houses are for six tenants and owner-occupiers from Kilnfields who are involved in the relocation to new properties to allow for the old homes in Kilnfields to be demolished and rebuilt.
Mr Scrivens thanked everyone involved in the massive re-build and new-build project and presented bottles of Champagne to the winners who had come up with the names of new roads on the estate.
The Kilnfields re-development by Waverley is in partnership with Thames Valley Housing Association and developers, Lovell.
