FRIMLEY Park Hospital has received its first patient by air ambulance since the hospital's new helipad became fully operational.
Thames Valley and Chiltern Air Ambulance were the first to land with a patient requiring emergency medical treatment soon after midday on Tuesday.
The patient, from the Bracknell area, was given an option by paramedics as to which trauma unit he wished to be airlifted to and he chose Frimley Park.
After landing on the rooftop helipad, the patient was swiftly and safely transferred direct to the new resuscitation department for treatment, where he was later described as stable.
