ST George’s flag flew at half mast over St Andrew’s Church and South West Surrey’s election candidates suspended campaigning on Tuesday, as Farnham paid its respects to all those involved in the Manchester terror attacks.

Emergency services and authorities across the area have also expressed solidarity with their north of England counterparts - and David Munro, the Police and Crime Commissioner for Surrey has urged the community to continue to stand together following the attack and remain vigilant.

The former Farnham councillor said: “This was a truly appalling attack which targeted innocent young people and families who were enjoying a night out at a pop concert. Such acts seek to divide our communities and create disharmony.

“We must continue to stand together to stop that from happening.”
