FLOODING may have scuppered a long-running bid to redevelop an eyesore in Liss village centre.

Applicant Mapledean Developments is hoping it's a case of third time lucky with its bid to build half-a-dozen flats next to the Crossover Centre.

It wants to replace 71a and 71b Station Road with two blocks that measure three and two storeys high respectively.

Previous applications have been opposed due to concerns over height, access, parking arrangements, and the effect on the street scene.

But councillors wonder if the devastation caused by the December 23 storm may have poured cold water on the latest bid.
