ALTON'S annual events programme kicks off on Tuesday with the 12th annual pancake race.

Competitors of all ages will line up outside Iceland in the High Street, many in fancy dress, to race up Cross and Pillory Lane and around the Market Square, before crossing the finishing line outside the Town Hall.
