MEMBERS of the congregation of St Nicholas Church, Chawton, have become the latest victims in the area to be forced to evacuate.

When the waters of the Lavant Stream rose to the doors of the church in December its boiler house flooded. The damage has forced services to be held away in temporary accommodation and the launch of a £25,000 appeal to replace the sodden heating system.
