LIPHOOK Carnival would not be the same without the crew from Findlay’s Florists, under the leadership of owner Katie Land, who has been taking part in the event for 35 years
She first entered the Carnival with her team of florists 25 years ago. Each year they stand out in their colourful costumes, ready to party during the procession.
In the past, they have dressed up as Dalmations, the Green Party and as clowns. But this year they chose to wear iconic Abba costumes in tribute to the Swedish band whose music has been revived by the launch of sequel of the Mamma Mia film which stars Cher and Meryl Streep.
Katie, who recevied third prize in the Walkers category said: “We chose Mamma Mia – Here We Go Again for two reasons. We all absolutely love the movie and because one of the girls is actually called Mia.
“This year was absolutely fantastic and it was great to see so many new entrants, especially the children from Liphook Junior School and the village football club.”
