THE local community has been 'knocked for six' by the 'Sydney' flu virus with Alton Health Centre recording an unprecedented increase in work load for doctors on call, and North Hampshire Hospital, Basingstoke, taking emergency cases only.
Potentially the worst outbreak in a decade, health staff are working flat out, many having to cover for colleagues who are themselves suffering.
