REPRESENTATIVES from Haslemere Town Council joined their Waverley Borough Council and Surrey County Council counterparts on Monday for a national-flag raising ceremony to mark the start of Armed Forces Week.

Town mayor John Robini said: “I am honoured to take this opportunity to pledge our support for the men and women who make up the Armed Forces community: from currently serving troops to veterans and cadets.”

Events in Armed Forces Week lead up to Armed Forces Day which is on Saturday, June 29.

This year the national celebration will take place in Salisbury but many places across Surrey, East Hampshire and West Sussex will be also be saluting our forces.
