HOPES are high that Haslemere Food Festival will provide a real boost for talented small producers who deserve a higher profile.

Inspired by the abundance of the weekly Saturday market at Haslemere's twin French town of Bernay, local wine presenter and author Francis Gimblett is hosting a festival event on Saturday, September 28, to enjoy a taste of the best food and drink produced within a 30-mile radius.

The event at Haslemere Museum is also an opportunity for local schools to show how they are encouraging their pupils to source local produce whenever possible by serving up dishes based on the tempting recipes they have created.
