A MOUTHWATERING event that brings thousands of foodies to Petersfield will take place in the town centre this weekend.

A few pounds will be shed this Saturday and Sunday when the Petersfield Festival of Food and Drink takes over the town.

This year's event could be a record-breaker with more than 90 stalls serving up an incredible range of products from across the country.

But the event was nearly cancelled after leaving a bad taste in the mouth of unhappy High Street traders.

The annual festival was nearly pulled after the Association of Petersfield Businesses objected to the Saturday closure of the High Street.
