A NEW yoga class has got under way at Bordon’s Forest Community Centre.

The class will take place weekly from 6.30pm to 7.30pm.

“We have had a lot of requests for yoga classes,” said community project worker Claire Coxwell.

“One of our aims is to offer a variety of activities which promote a healthy lifestyle. Yoga improves flexibility, builds muscle strength, improves posture and increases blood flow.”

The classes will be led by experienced yoga teacher Chris Stamp, who already runs popular classes in Alton and Basingstoke.

“I’m excited about bringing my class to the Community Centre in Bordon,” he said. “I teach a Vinyasa flow-style class, aimed at people of all levels of experience, including beginners.”

The yoga class is one of many healthy living activities that take place at Forest Community Centre. Tea dances, jive classes, Mature Movers and Steady and Strong classes all run regularly.

For children, the centre has the JanSu School of Dance, regular junior discos, the Phoenix Twirlstars, and Rugbytots.
