PETERSFIELD police are advising bankers and traders to be on the lookout for forged £20 notes.
A spokesman for the police said businesses in the Petersfield, Alton and Bordon areas had been hit in the last few days by a team using counterfeit currency.
To date all the forged notes have been £20 notes, and all bear serial numbers ending 36410650.
ÒThey are very good forgeries and even have the security strip and hologram on them,Ó said the spokesman
Petersfield police have arrested one member of the team and are keen to identify more of the notes in the same series that have been passed to other businesses.
ÒThis team have hit East Hampshire several times in the past,Ó said the spokesman.

The police advise all retailers who are unsure on how to identify counterfeit currency to contact the police or their bank for advice.
