IN one of his last official engagements as Mayor of Farnham, Mike Hodge hosted a ‘thank you’ reception for volunteers, sponsors and representatives from organisations he visited during his mayoral year.
Around 60 people attended the informal reception at the council offices on Tuesday, May 8.
Mr Hodge said: “From the businesses that sponsor events and Farnham in Bloom for the enjoyment of others, to the volunteers who give their time so selflessly and the organisations that provide services for the benefit of others, this reception was a small way to say thank you and show our appreciation to just some of those that make a positive difference to people who live in Farnham.”
During his year as mayor, Mr Hodge attended around 300 engagements, raised awareness about the work of Farnham’s voluntary sector and raised money for his official charities, the Woodlarks Centre and Brightwells Gostrey Community Centre.
