Former Petersfield Town co-managers Pat Suraci and Joe Lea have been unveiled as managers of Gosport Borough.

As predicted by the Herald and Post yesterday, the highly-rated duo have returned to the Southern League Premier South Division club.

Suraci and Lea led Gosport's academy for a number of years alongside development roles at Chelsea and AFC Bournemouth.

A Gosport statement said: "Following extensive discussions on the future direction of the club, the popular Borough pair have accepted the challenge of leading the club, as it begins to reshape itself into a truly self-sustainable local community club and secure its long-term future.

"The club are delighted to make an appointment that it hopes will re-energise everybody connected with the Borough and are excited to be able to start its optimistic preparations for the coming season."

Last season, the managerial duo led the Rams to promotion to the Premier Division of the Wessex League as well as reaching the Wessex League Cup final.

The statement added: "Borough's new head coaches take up their roles at Gosport Borough with immediate effect."

The Rams' head of football Mark Summerhill has also left the club. It is expected he will also be given a role at Gosport.
