Railway author Nigel Welbourn from Four Marks has written his 17th book on the subject of disused railways.

This Watercress Line volunteer’s latest offering Lost Railways of the World sees Nigel explore the globe instead of just the British Isles.

The material was collected and researched over almost 50 years of world travel by him.

He records the fortunes of those lines, and every country with significant disused railways – many using British equipment and practices – features in the book.

With 300 colour illustrations, many published for the first time, it is aimed at railway enthusiasts and those interested in nostalgia, history, geography and travel.

The world’s top ten lost lines, running through landscapes as diverse as the Florida Keys and the Khyber Pass, are all included.
