SPEEDY junior Farnham ski star Freddie Mellon-Hendry is now Fastest Male U14 in the south of England.

The Weydon School student has already won five gold medals and one silver in the six races he completed in this year across the South.

His latest win is even more impressive as it was achieved despite Freddie being laid low by illness and unable to race for more than three months.

A member of a local ski race club, his next challenge is the Surrey School Ski Race, where he will represent his school in October.

Weydon’s progress and achievements leader Laura Butler said: “This is so impressive and we’re all so proud of Freddie’s recent win. He has overcome some tricky hurdles and worked so hard to gain this title. We are looking forward to hearing how he does in his next competition and wish him lots of luck for the future.”
