THE Orchard Club, based at Haslewey Community Centre in Lion Green, is launching two new initiatives in the High Lane area of Haslemere.

The first is a free lunch at High Lane Community Centre on Tuesday December 8, from 11.30am-2pm, with lunch starting at noon.

Anyone can attend, and there is transport available if needed, but people are asked to call ahead to book a place on (01428) 658190, or contact The Orchard Club via Haslewey Community Centre at Lion Green.

Mayor Melanie Odell and her consort, husband David Round will be attending and it is hoped the lunch will become a regular event next year.

The other new initiative is a community transport scheme, planning to offering a weekly minibus service to people in the High Lane area to the town and back again.
