BUILDING on the success of a taster Xplorer day during half term, families are invited to take advantage of the free outdoor adventure in Farnham Park this summer holidays.

Following a simple map to find the markers and learn fun facts, the adventure can become a competition against friends or family. The course lasts for approximately 30 minutes and everyone will receive a certificate and sticker for taking part.

Jenny Else, Waverley Borough Council’s portfolio holder for health, well-being and culture, said: “This is a fantastic free activity for families to take advantage of during the school holidays.

“Around 80 children took part in a single session during half-term, proving there is an appetite for families to play and explore together.

“Feedback from both parents and children is that they had a brilliant time putting their navigational skills to the test. Some chose to stay in the park to enjoy a picnic afterwards and used the event as part of a great day out in the fresh air.

“One parent emailed me to say what a fantastic time they had and asked when the next sessions were going to be. This is such a great way for families to spend time exploring new skills together and it is an opportunity which shouldn’t be missed.”

The Xplorer outdoor adventure will be available in Farnham Park from 10.30am to 12.30pm and 1.30pm to 3.30pm on both Tuesday, August 2, and Friday, August 26. For more information visit www.waverley.gov.uk.
