POLICE are warning car owners not to leave valuable items on display following a surge of break-ins across the area.

The most recent theft happened last Friday morning when a sat nav was stolen from a car parked near Farnham railway station.

Cars have also been targeted this month at Frensham Ponds - a popular location for car thieves - and Copse Avenue in Weybourne.

It comes after a spate of smash and grabs on February 27 saw sat navs and other items stolen from vehicles in Bridgefield, Hale Road, Park Road and Anstey Road.

Following the thefts, Farnham's neighbourhood police team has urged car owners to protect their vehicles and possessions from opportunist thieves.
